Earlier this week we had our first ever B Eventing young rider camp—we packed a lot into three days!
Jen C took the lead in planning the camp and got us all off to a solid start with a talk about feed, nutrition, overall health, and barn basics like blanketing and horse care. Day 1 was devoted to dressage—rules, ring etiquette, and learning to judge tests!
Day two and three were stadium and cross country days—we covered building, riding, and judging courses, and ended the riding portion of the camp with a lot of technical exercises to prepare them for decision making and rideability out on course.
More to come on our two amazing guest lecturers, but it was so great to have this amazing group of riders together to learn and have fun—they came to camp every day open to learning and worked hard on their riding—making our end of camp ice creams DownRiver Ice Cream even sweeter!
